Obituary for Marilyn C. ""Lyn"" Tillman (DeLooze)

Marilyn C. “Lyn” (DeLooze) Tillman, 72, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Pastor Richard C. Tillman, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage on May 12, 2017.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, and on Thursday, July 27, from 10:30 a.m. until the service begins at 11 a.m. Elder Jonathan Cook will be officiating. Interment will follow in the New Freedom Cemetery.

Lyn was a graduate of Eastern High School, Baltimore, MD, Class of 1962. She retired as an administrative assistant from Stump, Harvey & Cook Inc. and was a member of the Old Brick Primitive Baptist Church, Jarrettsville, MD. Besides her love of the church, Lyn loved cruising and was a member of the Pink Boa Cruisers and Cruise Critic.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard, are two daughters, Shelly Chamness, and her husband, Mark, of Columbia, MD, and Stacy Tillman of Pittsburgh; 5 siblings, Glenn, Earl, Karl, and David DeLooze, and Karen George.
