Condolences

Condolence From: Kay Anders
Condolence: To Sam and Larry's family... please accept my deepest and sincere condolences. I know you will miss Larry greatly, as will I and all of the neighbors that he befriended and cared for. Larry had his health struggles but through it all he kept a positive attitude and never failed to continue to keep an eye out on the neighborhood happenings. He (and Sam) were grateful to bring up trashcans, knock on your door when something was awry, or just to share a happy or sad occasion. And whenever I had an excess of pizza, or cake or other assorted goodies, Larry was always willing to keep it from going to waste. He will truly be missed. May the 'blue porch light' shine in our hearts for Larry forever. Sincerely, Kay

Condolence: Hi,

I am Larry's next door neighbor and only knew him for 11 mo. It wasn't long before I realized he was a true good neighbor like in the old days - friendly, watchful and generous in every sense. I liked to think of Larry as our little enclave's elder statesmen.

He would text me when our neighborhood's power had gone out and when it was restored, or that I had left the dome light in my car on. Shortly after I moved in, he gave my youngest son and I matching, brand, spanking new Orioles jerseys! He shared with me when trash day was, the routine for plowing snow from the parking lot, and the location of the wash room. It wasn't long before I began to call him "The Mayor" and sometimes "The Governor" for all the "public service" he performed.

I miss you Mr. Mayor but feel our neighborhood remains safe with you watching over it - now - from above.

Sam,
Your father told me with pride that you were completing confirmation and I was so pleasantly surprised to see you and your father shoveling the walkway in front of my place and sweeping the snow off of my car. If your friendly and cheerful personality even marginally reflect that of your father's, then he was truly a great man.

Condolence: Joe and Samantha, condolences and prayers to you on the passing of your father. I've known your dad since he was 11 years old, I worked with his father as a Letter Carrier here in Cumberland, MD. Your dad was a terrific guy with a quick sense of humor and very often a prankster, I hope he passed some of these qualities on to both of you. Your grandfather, Joe, was an equally, admirable man who had firm beliefs and strong convictions, he was our Union President for many years and stood up for what was right. May angels lead your father into paradise and may he Rest In Peace, but you hear a little thunder in the evenings of Summer this year, you'll know your dad is up to something. Take care of yourselves, and have comfort in knowing your dad is in a much better place.. God bless you both!

Condolence: I had the absolute pleasure of knowing Larry for only a few short years. But in that time he and Sam brightened our tiny neighborhood like none had before. Sam with her father's smile and sweet nature and Larry, the "brother" who always had our backs. We were safe with Larry across the street and knew always that if even the smallest thing was needed, Larry was there in a heartbeat - no questions asked. He was one of the good guys and a true friend... few and far between. I will miss him.

Condolence: Larry worked for me at Range Control for several years before he retired. We would spend our down time talking about the Orioles, Ravens and Dolphins and pulling pranks on each other or any poor soul who made the mistake of being around when we were bored. After he retired we would text each other while watching the O's on TV and complain about the umpires, or cheer when the O's made a big play. I am going to miss you buddy. This is for Sam. Your daddy also used to talk about you all the time. He was so proud of you and loved you so much. He had you pictures everywhere on his desk. He touched a lot of peoples lives and will be missed. God bless.

Condolence: The " Animal" is gone, hard to believe. Karen and I thought about you last summer in Seattle when we watched the O's play the Mariners. Still can't get out of my head you heckling Ricky Henderson from the bleachers at Memorial Stadium, with what else, Animal Crackers. Rest easy Brother.
