Obituary for Herbert F. Bosley

Herbert F. Bosley, Sr., 95, died at Rest Haven, York on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was the husband of the late Margaret E. Bosley.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 24 at New Freedom Cemetery, Campbell Rd., New Freedom with Pastor Terry Felton officiating. Full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will begin at 11 a.m.

Born October 15, 1921 in Freeland, MD, he was the son of the late William H. and Hattie R. (Hoffman) Bosley. Herbert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. He was a member of the former Gunpowder Baptist Church. Herbert retired in 1982 after over 50 years as an Engineer with the former PA Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail and Amtrak. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Local #52, Baltimore, MD.

Herbert is survived by three sons, Herbert F. Bosley, Jr. and his wife, Sally, John T. Bosley and his wife, Pam, and Eddy F. Bosley and his wife, Christie. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great- great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel A. Wayne and Virginia M. Edwards. He was predeceased by a son, James H. Bosley; a grandson, Johnny Bosley; a sister, Dorothy R. Gosnell; a brother, William H. Bosley; and two daughters-in-law, Nancy Bosley and Mary Bosley.
